Refusal to get vaccinated despite it being a team policy.

I also think it may be a further reflection of potential personality concerns. It was brought up before he was drafted that he could be an organizational headache, if caused his draft stick to plummet, this kind of reflects that.

Because he's like the poorest man's version of Tyson Barrie, in that there was no defence, but some offence there, and now there's no offence.

Edit: Probably also the vaccination status, and alledgedly being a "meh" guy...but mainly just not being particularly good.

Did not get vaccinated so was sent overseas last year to play and did not impress.

Has good size, speed and offensive ability but seems to lack awareness and is not really producing even in the ECHL.

Most likely traded for a low pick, or not offered a contract and allowed to walk as a RFA.

Nah, Lou won't just let him walk while they can keep him for cheap $$$. Just look at how he kept Ho-Sang around way longer than anyone expected, just in case he turned himself into an asset.

Honestly? Obviously the vaccination thing rubbed Lou the wrong way, but I think if Wilde had showed any sort of promise they would've found a way to work with him. But 3-5-8 in 42 AHL games for an offensive Dman isn't really showing a ton of promise, and then putting up "meh" numbers in the Swedish version of the AHL didn't really bode well for him (pun, eh, let's say mildly intended.)

Also, I mean, he's a 2nd round pick. Not saying that you just punt on those picks, but the hit rate is obviously lesser than lottery picks. I mean, just in his draft year you can point to Jett Woo, Olof Lindbom, & Serron Noel as guys picked before him that haven't really done much of anything professionally to date, either. If another team offered Lou anything better than a 5th, I'm sure he'd take it and just move on at this point.

Thank you to all of these and future comments. Helps clear it up for me. I thought he was all around sound and not just a Barrie type. Looking for rhd prospects to poach and Wilde's stats were shocking. With how depleted the Avs rhd prospect pool is, I wouldn't hate giving him a reclamation shot with the Eagles. As long as he isn't a toxic person.
