They wont be playing 20 minutes lol. Rutta played top pair in tampa so he can handle the extra ice time. Ruhwedel is a very solid 6th/7th dman as well. Trying to tell pens fans what's best for the team lol. I dont think ur a pens fan so please stick to what you know about your own

Smith was a one of the worse Dmen in the NHL his sophomore year.... if im the Penguins im looking for a legit top 4 replacement. Rutta / Ruhwedel are bottom pairing guys. Petry is a solid option but AGIAN you are missing your best Dmen and trying to squeeze 3rd pairing guys into a 20-22 minute role.
Are you kidding? you basically gave NJD and elite level Dmen for a 3rd and some magic beans that you hope might become good.
You clearly don’t know nothing lol I agree with Caps. Smith is a black hole defensively.
Also rutta played top pairing because he was line with Hedman and even then rutta only averaged about 16 minutes a night and regularly mcdonagh or Cernak were moved up to play with Hedman for certain match-ups.
Rutta is a 5-6 dman not a top paring guy and Pittsburgh has no dman Herman’s caliber to carry rutta on a top pair.
Ruhwedel also is a 6-7 dman especially for a cup contender more likely 7th dman. His advanced stats looked good last year but he also only matched up against 4th lines mostly playing very protected match-ups.
Outside of petry most your dman are way out of place.
Pettersson and dumolin are 2nd pairing guys
Joseph, rutta, smith are bottom pairing guys and ruhwedel is a 7th dman.
Pittsburgh’s defence is gonna get embarrassed and jarry is gonna have to play like 21-22 shestorkin if pitsburgh wants to make playoffs
