Everything else aside - don’t think adding a forward of this caliber is the right way I’d spending the rest of our LTIR money….especially if there isn’t another move made to
Solidify defensive depth

Seems pretty inappropriate considering none of us on CapFriendly know all the details. If he was guilty, he would not be welcome by any NHL team.

He isn't signed so what does that say? If you are involved in anyway to that scandal you shouldn't be given a chance. If you disagree then you subscribe to "women are just trying to get money" and other victim blaming.

He isn’t signed because Ottawa is waiting for due process to unfold. It’s a pretty big leap to take to go from that to ‘victim blaming’ because I’m ‘disagreeing’. No disagreement from my end, I just didn’t like you insinuating that ‘rapists are welcome in Carolina’.

Interesting comment, seems like you’re targeting a team/fan base. I was banned from CapFriendly for a month for targeting Vancouver posters…I’d tread lightly.

We are still talking about this? Take your complaints to Philly who traded for him and gave him 10 million

I have not liked what I’ve seen of Soucy and Seattle’s defense this year. I don’t see him as a viable defensive depth add myself.

i would be incredibly shocked (and honestly, *very* cynical about it) if Formenton's name was magically cleared in the next 6 hours

This to both

Formenton has a lot of value IF his name gets cleared, which we absolutely have no idea if it will happen or not

That said, I have no idea why people keep inserting him in proposals, makes absolute no sense. He doesn't exist for now, he is simply not available for trade

If he could play in the NHL right now, the Sens could really use him to improve the 3rd line

Formenton - Pinto - Joseph would be deadly (initial Dorion plan, which is why it was STUPID to trade Connor Brown after learning about the TC scandal and possible Sens players involvement)

Sens are missing Formenton a LOT this season, particularly on the PK. If his name gets cleared he will play for the Ottawa Senators

You only trade him if a team is STUPID enough to give full value for him (in package) and send a good RHD our way

Pretty bad move

Coghlan is older but not really better than JBD and Thomson who are waiting for their opportunity. Heck, even Maxence Guenette is waiting his turn

Coghlan_JFresh.png

The only RHD the Sens should acquire is a proven veteran with years ahead of him of good play, aka a clear upgrade on Hamonic

I'll consider him again once he gets a NHL contract, which would probably mean his name was cleared
