-The Devils literally have *eleven* forwards who have been more productive than Josh Anderson this year. Who in that lineup is he pushing out? Because I'm assuming a team spending a '23 1st is trying to upgrade their top 6, not their 4th line.
-I can't see Colorado trading their 1st rounder this year. They literally only had a 6th & a 7th last year, they've only had 6 picks total in the past 2 drafts, and they traded away guys they picked pretty high in both the 2019 (Drew Helleson) and 2020 (Justin Barron) drafts. They need to restock the cupboard, and the fact that they won the Cup last year makes me feel like they'll be less desperate for that big upgrade and more discriminating with their deadline adds. Pass for the Avs.
-In what world is Arizona, a team very clearly rebuilding, going to give up a 3rd rounder (probably in the 65ish overall range) for a 34 year old Mike Hoffman? If you *send* them a 3rd, they might take him, but there's no world that the Coyotes should be paying any sort of positive asset for an older winger in decline.
-Another one where I'm not sure what PIttsburgh is doing here - both of these guys are on expiring deals, and a center like Dvorak doesn't really fill a need for a team that has Sidney Crosby, Geno Malkin, & Jeff Carter as their top 3 Cs.
-Matt Murray has been good for Toronto to date, and Jake Allen has been bad. Why is there any reason for Toronto to be throwing in a 2024 1st here? They don't need Savard at all, not what that term - he's basically a slightly worse version of Justin Holl who gets paid more and that they'll be stuck with longer. Hard pass for the Leafs.
-This one is probably the closest. Not sure if Edmonton has the cap space right now but the value is fair.
