I'd imagine they're going to take cap back the other way in whatever deal they find for Chychrun, but they're going to want at least useful NHL players as that cap coming back. Zaitsev would also still affect their cap if he had been left in the minors and traded that way, not that anyone will claim him if he is waived again.

That 2023 1st is a very high value commodity. Even top 5 protected. You won’t better that from any other team.

I could see something like this happening. Arizona will be taking cap back in any sort of Chychrun trade anyway, might as well be someone like Zaitsev. We've already seen that no one is going to pony up their asking price, Zaitsev being the price of crossing that bridge isn't unreasonable.

Yes. Belleville plays in a better rink. But I really don't know why Sens would make the trade. We've seen way too many in my opinion big overpayment teams by Sens, Canucks, Oilers, Leafs for the Chychrun.
