Is Walker good? I think Gavrikov is much more valuable.

With Jiricek and Blankenburg likely to be out T4 pair in 1-2 seasons, not sure CBJ take Walker straight up. That’s before we talk Boqvist, too. Ask is probably going to be 1st/ 1st+.

Nothing wrong with depth on D, but our blue line is about to get very crowded.

Yep. If we traded Gavvy 1:1 for a player then realistically walker wouldn’t be bad. But I’d much rather a pick

Honestly this is the best offer I seen for a straight up 1 for 1 on this site the past week but I still feel like front office wants a pick. I mean...if it came to that I wouldn't be opposed but like someone said above blue line is starting to look really crowded soon on the right side

@Ajp_18, I know you looked at this because you liked Bdawwwgy1's comment, and @Viqsi, you liked dopplsan's. You guys are my Columbus go-to's, and I value your opinions highly. What's your take?

Yeah Columbus is loaded with NHL level 2/3RHDs that can play first in a pinch, Peeke, Boqvist, Blankenburg and now we can add Bjork into that conversation because of all the Monster's call ups to me he has been the most impressive so far. We also have viable futures in Jiricek and Culemans whom either could be a future 1RHD. As this year has shown that never having enough D is a bad thing but we do need someone to eventually to step in that role where Z on the left can roam again because he plays best when he's basically an extra forward. The nice thing is having all these RHDs have so much more value in the league its never really too hard to deal if its gets way too crowded because all of these players could be potential trade pieces if the price is right! So having all these good NHL viable players are great to have on the roster for Columbus to have future...and Gudbranson

Personally I wouldn’t if I’m Columbus. With Peeke, Gudbranson, Blankenburg, Boqvist and Jiricek looking for NHL spots on the right side next year and having Cuelamens in the system adding a RHD doesn’t make much sense for Columbus. If Columbus were to add a D it would probably be a LHD to replace Gavrikov.

I think the priority is to keep Gavrikov. And if we can't, then the focus should be on a futures deal. Walker doesn't really add anything we don't already have to our suddenly-crowed group on RD other than being older (but not necessarily substantially more skilled). I'm honestly not fond of him being in a Gavrikov deal at all; I think he drags it down.
