Not trolling anyone. All are legit moves. Kent likes Johnsson. Joey Anderson has history in NJ and is good 13F and good locker room guy. And Wilson is buddies with Hughes, caps may retool in off-season.

I enjoy the troll, but Washington would need more than that for Wilson (unless this is part of the troll, in which case i respect the hustle)

Hughes needs a bodygaurd more than Ovechkin does. Ovie needs a Backstrom

For sure. Not only would Wilson just get more by himself but NJD would have to pay the extra price to send him to a divisional rival.

Montreal have extra wingers and are sellers not buyers so please explain to me like I'm 10 years old why they'd pay a 3rd for a pending UFA who makes 3.4M while playing in the AHL.

Honestly, you just joined on a bad week to be a Habs fan - this week has been almost non-stop Habs fans posting "Anderson to NJD for a 1st+" and, well, it's been a bit much. (not saying you're responsible for any of it btw)

Welcome to CF by the way!

Just for the purpose of discussion, I'm genuinely curious as to what makes you think he's worth a 1st+?

The reasons most Habs fans have said are that he's this "super rare combination of a fast/physical/goal scoring machine!", when in actual fact, his production has been bad for 4 consecutive years. We've heard the same narrative out of Montreal for the past 2 years, yet he's still in Montreal, and still isn't producing...So, he's fast and he hits? Miles Wood does that at 50% of the price...

He's slated to return around mid-January if I remember correctly, but I wouldn't be surprised if it takes a bit longer given the nature of his injury. Regardless, he should be back before the trade deadline, which should give the Caps a big boost in play. I can't see them even considering trading Wilson due to his unique play and value to Washington, but if they did, I have a feeling they'll ask for multiple firsts. You'd end up seeing value that would be far more than his pure points production (like Josh Anderson now, fun!), but it'll take a ton of value to get Washington to move on, mostly due to his unique play and love from DC brass. In my opinion, it would be a terrible idea for any team to pay what I expect Washington to ask, and instead pray that he makes it to free agency next season.

We give player, Montreal gives us pick. Kent loves Johnsson and wants him badly. Some GMs love his style. Mango would run through a brick wall for his teammates. Maybe that is an attribute that Kent thinks Habs could use.

Yayaya, I know. I'm just trying to be open here to attempt to understand the logic.

And you know what? It absolutely wouldn't surprise me if someone does something stupid like overpay on Anderson, but they certainly shouldn't. I'm just happy knowing it won't be my beloved Duckos.

This is going to end up on thehockeywriters.com as a huge Caps scandal, and if they don't reference the fact that you're their source, I'm going to scream.
