Why are you worrying about these youngsters now? They're 2024 and 2025 signing deadlines. You should be concerned about Ryan Johnson.

no, it’s the same situation as cal petersen. petersen did a post-draft junior year (same as portillo) before entering college and was a UFA after his junior season.

But why worry about Levi and Portelli next season. They aren't going to be Sabres for a few years anyway. Check for for UFAs or even "third goalies" could help Sabres even if short term.
I just think about 10m could be spent better than Hart and Konecky without giving up the first and second.

While Portillo has two years of college eligibility remaining, he will be eligible to opt for free agency next August since it will be four years since he has been drafted 2019.

Devon Levi was a seventh-round draft choice of the Florida Panthers in 2020.

Why wouldn't Levi sign? There's a clear and obvious path to playing time in the Sabres crease. Portillo should see that too.

He's doing podcasts on Sabres fannsites, tweeting about bills mafia and hanging out at Sabres morning skates when his team is in the same town
