Steve doesn’t tend to like many undersized guys, and Rasmussen is a proven nhler that contributes to our lineup at 3C while Robertson still can’t seem to stick even with a massive glaring hole at left wing and elite talent to play with.

So I don’t think so.

He may be undersized but he is bulking up and is close to 200 pounds. He's going to be one of those 5'10" 200+ pound forwards as he develops

Also it's just Keefe that doesn't want to play him, he has looked good in the top 6

Nicholas Robertson sucks. Idk why people keep parading him around like he’s anything more than a borderline NHLer.

Rasmussen would cost a 1st round pick. Detroit wouldn’t move him for anything less. Versatile 22 year old 6’6” top 9 forward on a cheap contract. We have no incentive to move him.

I dont know where u thought that but everything u said on Robertson is pretty bad. Hes 21 and still growing. Hes not a fringe NHLer at all only reason hes not in night in and out is the guys he needs to beat out are on our PK. Until he learns to do so its not gonna be easy but with Jarnkrok out hes gonna have a chance to play

Meanwhile Rasmussen is 23 soon becoming 24 in April whose a 4c and drafted to high sure hes big but nothing really special. Kampf is doing all that already

So this would be a losing trade for Toronto as Rasmussen's ceiling is 4 maybe 3c while Robertson's is top 6 scoring winger. So asking for a 1st for him would basically be like Kerfoot being worth a 1st lul

The trade does nothing for Detroit except make them weaker at a position they don't have much depth at. Ras isn't great but been playing better since the 2nd half of last year. He'll never be a huge point producer but decent in a bottom 6 role and cheap. Detroit is already stocked with top 6 wingers (when healthy) and there really wouldn't be room for Robertson to play for the foreseeable future. 21 isn't exactly that young for an NHL player these days, majority of players who haven't established themselves by around 22 usually end up as tweeners

Neither for Detroit. I honestly think that both teams declines. Rasmussen is huge and has a very good work ethic. He seems to get better every season. And Wings also have so many small wingers in the system already.

Okay so Ras is 23. He broke into the NHL prematurely and has been a late bloomer. The Kerfoot comparison isn’t a good one because a big value component is the players’ contract.

If Kerfoot was signed for $1.8m for another 2 years he’d be worth a helluva lot more than he is at $3.5m.

Robertson’s ceiling is classically inflated by him being in the Toronto market. Big market fan bases love to obsess over mediocre prospects as if every prospect they have is LeBron James. He is nothing special. If he was, they would have traded him for a good NHL player. Truth is, you can’t even get Rasmussen for him.
