Smith > Sundqvist

Move Smith for cap. Move Foligno to 3rd line and recall Wagner. Better option.

Interesting take, Sundqvist is bigger, stronger, younger and actually is playing well this year, smith has looked terrible not sure how he’s better. Greer is better than Wagner.

And at his most productive is still less productive than Smith. We have better options internally than wasting assets on him. So many better options. Just don’t see that as any kind of upgrade and just burning cap space.

Still, Sundqvist has been a 4th liner so far in his career. Seattle don't need Smith, they have plenty of forwards and right now, Bruins would probably have to pay to move Smith.

I’m not familiar with the player u have going to the Wings, but I don’t see Detroit trading Sundqvist for less than a 2nd rounder or at all if we’re still serious playoff contenders.

I would use the Calle Yarnkrok trade as a comparable. He garnered a 2nd, 3rd and a late round pick at the deadline last year. While I would not expect that sort of return - I think the player is similar.

Wings pass, they'll just keep Sunny and try to resign him if they can't get a 2nd. He'll likely have a few contenders vying for his services so getting a 2nd is plausible

Yzerman has proven he'll hold on to a potential UFA and roll the dice on resigning rather just taking what he can get . See. Steven Stamkos
