The problem is the Panthers have not anymore somes solids aspects to be trade for EK65.

- Thier 2023 1st round pick: MTL
- Their 2024 1st round pick (top 10 protected) : PHI
- Their 2025 or 2026 1st round pick (top 10 protected) : CGY

And their top prospects like Tippet haved been traded away.

I have a big prediction about the EK65 trade: Montreal will trade for him, but the trade will only be make during the 2023 NHL Draft because of his massive contract.

Can’t see Montreal giving up the assets needed or rushing it

This is beyond terrible for SJ. Karlsson is twice the player Bob is and yet FLA isn't retaining a dime of that horrid contract? Karlsson is on pace for 100 points. Bob is basically an AHL goalie. Wow.

Montreal can build a pakage including two 2023 1st round picks, a 2nd round pick, Justin Barron and somes cap dumping players like Hoffman at minimum.

They will likely add another or maybe two other 2023 1st round pick before the TDL.

Montreal shouldn’t be trading all that for a 32 year old. They’re not at that stage

Sure. But Grier realistically isn't going to retain more than a couple million. He won't handcuff the franchise and risk his job.

Also i think that's a bad idea for the Habs. They're not at the point where they need to add that kind of player.

yea and the other factor is if Karlsson would want to go there.
for me I think we all need to know what teams Karlsson is willing to waive his NMC for and then start to make trade ideas that fit for both teams instead of ones like this were we trade arguably the best D man in hockey this year for 2 really bad cap dumps and an underwhelming package of prospects and pick to try and justify the return.

What about 7M ont the Habs side and the rest saty with SJ ?

And I think Montreal are more ready to be competitive than people think. Also, something than Montreal REALLY need is a experienced RD who can be their 1D on the first line on the PP, and Karlsson is the greatest choice for them.

And about my trade offer, that's the type of return that you can start to have a trade discussion. That's can be more than the other Karlsson trade to SJ.

That's an absurd amount of retention that handcuffs SJ for a long time and would seriously risk Mike Grier his job. It isn't happening

Keep in mind SJ is okay with keeping Erik. He sells tickets and SJ cannot afford to not sell tickets. Were a small market team that needs star players in order to stay afloat and the owner loves Erik Karlsson.

Grier said he is willing to "listen" to offers on all sharks except Hertl. That doesn't mean he is desperate to trade any of them. He's a very patient GM.

Grier haved been hired for starting a rebuild processus, not being competitive 2023 or 2024.

He clearly knows than he can only trade EK65 for only one condition: if they rentained a good percentage ( between 20% & 40% )of his contract, and I think the SJ Sports & Entertainement Entreprises knows that.

Also, that's why I said he will only trade Karlsson at the offseason, because he will wait for having a massive value.

Montreal is in a good spot believe it or not… but your right they are still 2-3 years from contention window but they have a solid group of good young players and with contracts being shed over the next few years they will have money to pay for raises and the pieces they need.

They didn't hire him for a rebuild. Grier even said that he didn't intend to start a rebuild. Don't know where you got that idea but clearly not from SJ sources.

If you think SJ is retaining 20+million for 4 years you are mistaken. No GM would do that. Its career suicide and would seriously hamper the franchises ability to do anything productive for years.. let's keep this realistic.

They're something that I don't understand: Why they already haved somes trades discussions about Karlsson and why the Sharks are ''open to trade Karlsson with somes minimum rententions'' ?

And all of theses informations are from the best reporters & insiders of the North Amercian hockey world.
