Sharks top ten prospects updated

Created by: Kjell_Forsman
Team: 2022-23 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 3, 2022
Published: Dec. 3, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
1) Thomas Bordeleau - impressive improvement all around, defense and offense. He will almost definitely get a call up first and likely stay depending on the Sharks trades.

2) William Eklund - finally picking up production in the ahl. 7 pts in last 10 games. Still a future top six staple.

3) Filip Bystedt - has dominated Swedish junior ranks since being drafted. Consistent production for Linkoping in SHL. Very mature, smart two way forward. Very underrated. Already has an NHL body at 18. Possible steal. Probable to stay in North America next season.

4) Tristen Robins - most consistent producer among the prospects in the ahl.

5) Ryan Merkley - still looking for consistency, still an elite skater and high end playmaker. Project player still.

6) Cam Lund - impressed at dev camp dominating the scoring. 12 points in 15 games for Northeastern, great transition game, NHL shot, could be a top six fwd.

7) Mattias Havelid - season derailed with injuries still a potential top 4 offensive dman.

8) Ethan Cardwell - got a long look at tc, rough and tumble scoring forward. 27 points in 16 ohl games on an average team.

9) Eetu Makiniemi - coming off injury has been stringing together good numbers for the Cuda. Last 10 games has a .925 save %

10) Magnus Chrona - won a National championship last year as starter for Denver. Still strong numbers this year. 6'6" goalie.

Liked Makiniemi quite bit when he was in the Canes organization, but he just hasn’t been able to stay healthy. At one point, there was discussion amongst the fan base on whether EM was the goalie of the future.

He says he's the healthiest he's been in years now. And he's looked really good for a struggling Cuda team. I can see a Kahkonen Makiniemi finnish tandem for the Sharks next year.

do you watch Cuda games? I don't so I would trust you more but I feel like it's kinda early to already have Tommy over Willy

like the insight but leaving Laroque off and keeping Merkley on is foolish to me. Laroque has speed, size, immensely better defensively while providing plus offensive skill. Laroque screams future Top 4, where Merkley looks more and more like a 3rd pair D PP specialist.
and and Caldwell over Coe seems off as well, Coe probably isn’t a top 6 RW but 3rd line power forward who is defensively sound seems reasonable. I see him being a Clowe/ Wingles type. not quite as good as Clowe but better than Wingles.
my top 10.
1, Eklund
2, Bordeleau
3, Robins
4, Gushin
5, Laroque
6, Lund
7, Coe
8, Bystedt
9, Makiniemi
10, Lund

H.M. Havelid, Fisher, Mann, Chrona, Weisblatt, Cardwell, Kinazev, Furlong, Merkley, Cicek.
