Quoting: PantsOffnJacket
I didnt say it wasn't a good offer, just not a good enough one to aquire Jenner. Let's say Jarmo decides he's going to destroy the teams fan base...he decides to trade Jenner, it's after the lottery has happened, it's a #10-#15 pick, a top Forward prospect (NOT another defenseman, jackets are backlogged with them), and a younger middle 6 (possibly, with top 6 potential).
I know, it's alot, and that's what it'd take to get him...he means too much to the jackets and they're the ones that set his value. If a team wanted him, good luck...lol
Yeah, I totally agree with you that CBJ wouldn't interested in this offer but just wanted to point out (to everyone) that what CBJ is going to expect would be
an overpay. I just replied to you because you mentioned that he's untouchable, so figured I would clarify the point I was trying to make with my Tavares comparison.
I also wanted to clarify that from a Leafs perspective, the OP's trade is an overpay but like we mentioned it's not a fit for CBJ who doesn't need defense.
Appreciate that you also took the time to explain to non-CBJ fans why it would take an overpay to acquire him in the previous post and what CBJ interests are in this one.
