you would think the leafs would be adding to the defence core. trading one rhd for a rhd doesn't help the leafs that much. it's overpayment for tanev anyway

I could see a bunch of these deals happening. The Trouba one seems light. Not sure they are even looking to move him anymore, isn't he signed now?

Subban for Pouliot deal wouldn't happen, Pouliot is still a good prospect (you have him playing in your top four), while Subban likely will never be an NHL regular. I doubt Sutter could get you that much without some retained salary. Also both Granlund and Gaunce have shown that they are much better wingers than centers. I like the idea behind the Trouba trade, though I don't think Winnipeg would have much interest in Gudbranson.

Highly doubt Edmonton would take on Sutters contract with some huge deals pending.

Ya, he's signed but I know the issue there is he likes playing the right side and they already have Byfuglien and Meyers there. I was thinking they'd have Hutton fill out their second pair left side and then Gudbranson for right side depth. Not sure the Jets would bite but at least those two players don't have the NTCs to say no to Winnipeg.

The Penguins haven't dressed Pouliot for a single playoff game this year even as their blueline has been decimated by injuries. Maybe his old WHL coach Travis Green could help him establish himself as an NHL regular?
