The problem is not just those players struggling. They don’t get PP time but are actually scoring at the similar rate at 5v5 compared to Panarin. The offensive-zone system doesn’t work for their players. It’s too much dump + chase, crash the net and no one is really able to hold onto the puck & create.

I was afraid this season would go like this, but on the good note. Weaknesses is getting exposed (yes that is a good thing) and this is a good year to be bad. If that NYR first becomes like a William Smith at the draft, it is worth the humiliation in my mind.
