you realize in that Montreal trade you're giving up a middle-6 prospect *and* a 2nd rounder in a stacked draft for a 33 year old winger making $5M who just scored his 2nd goal -all season- tonight? Dadonov is worthless, I'd maybe give up a late round pick if Montreal sent him out fully retained, but that's it.

Sharks probably want a '23 1st in any Meier deal, which I'd be fine upgrading to. I know that Raty is the prospect they want but I do think this is a strong package - young NHL-ready LHD, middle-6 prospect with upside, younger roster player, and a 1st. If Raty is the redline for the Sharks, though, I'd say that Beauvillier turns into Josh Bailey and that the 1st stays a '24 - Raty is the Isles #1 prospect and should be valued accordingly.

You're not getting Timo with this package. Plain and simple. You're allowed to dream, though.

I think a 2023 1st in the 16-23 range should be enough for Meier. That's what Minnesota got for Fiala, and they're very similar players.

I know Minnesota had cap issues, but i don't think it lowered Fiala value that much. I'm sure many teams were interested in a PPG player.

And SJ is in a full rebuild. Even if he's RFA, every team know SJ is not extending him. He's getting traded at trade deadline or this summer.
