Keeping Nino and Granny; Deals with DAL and Vegas

Created by: BoredWildFan

Description
DAL Trade: Dallas is in win now mode. Nill has stated #3 is in play for impact players. DAL gets a top pairing LHD to play with Klingberg. Pominville, contrary to popular belief, is still a decent player, just overpaid. He comes at a discounted price and will produce good numbers next to Seguin or Spezza. MINN gets #3oa and clears cap space. It's a hard deal to make for division rivals, but both teams win.

Vegas Deals: GMCF offers Vegas C. Folin as the expansion pick and #3oa for 3 players in return. Vegas selects C. Jarnkrok, TVR, and J. Anderson and sends them to MINN. (Players subject to change. I realize Anderson may be protected).

Three expansion draft players isn't a sexy return for the #3oa pick, but the three are young, cost-controlled and can immediately fill holes in the line-up. Most importantly, it allows MINN to sign Nino and Granny without tearing apart too much of the roster or taking a step backwards next season.

Dallas can't take the 10 million plus cap hit but the Sabres can :-)

After Dallas buys-out Niemi, they have close to $20 mil in cap space. MINN is retaining salary on Pominville so 8.1 is going to DAL in this deal. Leaves them with 11+ mil to sign their 5 key RFAs, most of which will be inexpensive bridge deals and bring up some rookies.

I would be WAY too interested in 6-3, 200+ pound, right-handed do-it-all center, Gabriel Vilardi to trade the #3OA pick...especially for 3 role players.

Any trade for a higher pick in this years draft is going to send Dumba the other way. Book it.
