The Jets have no reason to add to the better and more valuable player to downgrade their lineup.

Toronto doesn't need Edmundson so they pass.
Don't see how Winnipeg is adding a pick to that trade let alone having any interest in that trade, they pass.
I'm thinking Edmonton would just keep JP since he is better than Hoffman, a fourth and retention doesn't make up the difference.
You forgot the second round pick + going to Detroit to take the last two years of Armia.

Puljujarvi's career is done in Edmonton at this point, he needs a fresh start! Not even sure mtl could agree to terms with him and they may let him walk in the offseason as he's arbitration eligible. Puljujarvi is about as relevant in this trade as Timmins in the Toronto deal but it's nice of you to lose the plot.

That's really hard to say, even if it was true they aren't going to trade him for Hoffman and a fourth. They could get a better player for 2M as a free agent and if they trade JP it is likely to upgrade another position.

Really coming from a Habs fan.

Charoit was having a really good season when they traded him for a 1st, honestly can you say the same for Edmunsson?

Why is anyone giving up anything for Armia? Tons of teams want to give up something and not get anything for a player who has played 13 games this year and has 1 point.

Why do they Jets want to give up a defenseman for that?

Again please be realistic

-Toronto doesn't need help at LHD (or D in general) this season - they've got plenty of depth once Rielly & Brodie come back, so who does Eddy replace? Rielly has LD1 locked down once he comes back, Mark Giordano has been one of their best shutdown D this season, and I can't see them rushing to put Rasmus Sandin in the press box for a guy like Edmundson. D is probably the last place that Toronto needs to pay big to upgrade, if they make any sort of move it'll probably be to add some more depth guys in case someone gets hurt.

-Value doesn't make any sense for Winnipeg. They're pretty strong with top-9 centers (Scheifele-PLD-Lowry), so this move basically upgrades 3C and makes Lowry a $3.25M 4C for the rest of this year. And they really don't have anyone ready to step up and play RD behind DeMelo so they're creating a roster hole to fill something that's not really a need, and they're giving up a decent pick with it? Pass for the Jets.

-Edmonton thinks about it but I think they ultimately pass. Both players are disappointing, but JP is younger and has a chance to bounce back, while Hoffman is clearly in the decline years of his career. And hell, if the Oilers decide they're done with JP, they can probably get something close to that 4th for his RFA rights this summer without having to take on an extra year of Hoffman's decline.

-Joel Armia has 1 assist in 13 GP this year. Joel Armia still has 2 more years at $3.4M AAV after this season. Joel Armia barely looks like an NHL player. Why is Detroit giving up ANY value for him?

I dont think Detroit should do it but Yzerman seems to want a lot of size especially in the bottom 6 and Armia is one of those guys that GMs covet for the post season when the league changes. Armia much like Puljujarvi in Edmonton needs a fresh start. He disappears in so many games whereas Puljujarvi just has no hockey sense at all.

Edmundson is a stretch as it sits, but not out of the question come TDL.

A 5th has basically no value. I can agree Armia also has no value.

While the Jets might not give up a defenseman for that, the value doesn't change. Change the team, probably asking around the same.

I'm not saying they're on the money, but it is entertaining to watch fanbases lose their minds about MTL players.

I guess you gotta get your enjoyment from somewhere; the race to finish dead last back to back isn’t entertaining enough 🤣

Only got him going to Detroit because of the rumours and Stevie Y in attendance during MTL games unless you think they are targeting Savard?
Montreal also isn't making the post season but they need experience in the lineup. 5th rounder is a throwaway. Could be a 6th or 7th.

Keep on dreaming 😅; don’t see it with that core but things could change if you finagle a top 2 draft next year

I have an ACGM last TDL where every response said the same thing as you more or less. One said I specifically remember, "all garbage, worth nothing"

I had Kulak going for a 3rd. He went for more w/ a 2nd.

I had Lehkonen going for a 2nd rounder. Went for a 2nd and Barron

I had Chiarot going for a 2nd and a 3rd, Went for a 1st, 4th and a prospect.

So yeah maybe you should live in this reality not your own delusion of what is real and what isn't real. It amazes when some like you never fail to gaslight with ad hominem attacks.

Have you even looked at our prospect pool? Lmao after the '23 draft we'll have one of the deepest, strongest prospect pools in the league..

Sean Farrell may be the most under the radar prospect in the NHL. Guy put up big numbers at the World Championships playing against NHL'rs yet no one mentions him much from outside Mtl.

Farrell and Beck will be quite interesting. Beck probably should have made the team out of camp this season as he was their best rookie by a mile but they are going slow with him which is a good thing

And the 2022 draft was not great, the 2023 draft is considered on the strongest draft in a while. Teams will be more reluctant to trade those picks this year. All those players were having good seasons. Can the same be said for this players this year, no a d with a deep draft the odds are slimmer. Not living in fantasy land but in reality and situation at hand. Times are not the same from year to year.

Charoit having record year, can you say the same for Edmunsson?

Armia is a cap hurting player not some the same as AL

Dvorak is nice 3rd line player but is not worth a 2 d and a good defenseman and the JP may have legs because neither players is anyrhing good and Hoffman may have value if he stays on ltir.
