No chance Vancouver retains on Boeser at least not for an underpay like this

I don't think New Jersey does this but the retention makes this quite enticing. Wood has a nice role with New Jersey, 2nd is a decent piece and shakir is a nice RD prospect.

Probably an off-season move for NJD. So no Wood, maybe 2024 picks instead of 2023 picks.

Yeah you're right. Wood may not be resigned, shak and the second are better spent elsewhere.
Boeser was a want at season start but he's not there now. Keep Woodie for the playoffs our speed and transition are whats working for us. Even if Wood doesn't dcore his speed is important abd they'll have to respect it. Plus he's got some nasty in him if need be! Pass from Jersey

Yea I remember Sheldon Keefe mentioning how fast and good their 4th line is and he mentioned Wood by name. This was before the most recent Leafs/NJD game.

I watch all his interviews and he is always very honest. He was very impressed by New Jersey and their team.

People who want to bring a majorly overpaid Boeser while moving Zetterlund out of the lineup need to really watch more Devils games....Zetterlund has been really solid for a rookie...has two fewer points than Boeser right now for much lower cap hit.

Devils simply do not need to acquire an expensive winger unless it is a major upgrade. I'd much rather run with the team we have and spend the assets next year on a 3C, 2LHD (Graves will go for a long term deal) and a relatively inexpensive 3RHD (to replace Severson who also gets term elsewhere).

2/3 of that line dinged up right now and some say it was a reason why they have up a game the other night. They may not be wrong.

This is a massive overpay for Boeser, who would be moving a better player from the lineup in order to play.

I'd do this if wood resigned and boeser wasn't retained

Patches: future considerations
Björkstrand: 3rd + 4th

But Wood + Mukhammadulin + a 2nd is and underpay for one of the league's worst performing wingers at a 6.65m cap hit?

I'd rather just have the Devils keep the superior forward in Wood and the futures and not have to commit a bunch of cap space to a guy that would struggle to make the Devils lineup.
