You would be lucky to get a mid round pick for KK at this point. Nobody is giving up signifigant assets for a centre who has yet to even hit a .5 ppg pace in a season 5 years in (it would take a miracle for him to get there this year).

The whole KK debacle brings me great joy, only because it was done out of spite and no other reason.

Some people just like to see the world burn. Can’t wait for him to hold the Stanley Cup above his head.

In addition - the idea was solid of trading for Adam Fox and signing him. Since that didn’t happen, they parlayed that into 3 2nd round picks all under ELC (Jamieson Rees, Anttoni Honka & Noel Gunler). Time will tell on that…

I like that Bergervin had the guts to offer sheet Aho, but that Waddell came back and even trolled him with $20 signing bonus, not to mention the Canes' Twitter admin's trolling. Will be interesting to see how it turns out for both squads in the long run. Right now, Canadiens' fans are elated and feel like they got the last laugh but who knows.

Personally, I hope KK sticks it to Habs fans (not by winning the cup though) but that Mesar also turns out to be a stud for them, so that it's ultimately a wash or win-win for both clubs. Perhaps then more teams would be willing to risk giving an offer sheet.

If y'all win a cup so he can hoist it, it won't be because he did anything to get you there.

Well the breakdown of the offer sheet comp is more complicated, Mescar was the Toffoli trade with CGY, not the Canes.

    Montreal trades KK + 2024 2nd round pick for Dvorak + 2022 3rd (Engstrom)

Oh right, totally forgot about that. So, in the end if it ends up being a wash, it's going to be Aho who will get the last laugh.

I’m still a believer that if Rod was brought in sooner, that trade never happens. With how much success Lindholm has had under Sutter, he probably would have had as much if not more success under Rod. That being said, he wouldn’t have Gaudreau and Tkachuk flanking him, which definitely helped pad Lindholm’s stats. But only time will tell.
