The only top 6 winger in the league who wouldn't play in like 20+ top 6s. I love it.

Hell, even in this ACGM I play Coleman over him lmao

Just what the Flames want....Anderson for four full seasons at 5.5m. Gee next season Huberneau and Weager and getting 7.5m raise just between the two of them.

Look, as a plea to all Montreal fans with their prospective Josh Anderson trades, at least look at a team's future cap if you're going to try and dump Anderson on them.

Calgary literally cannot do this. They gave out about $9.1M in raises to Jonathan Huberdeau, Mackenzie Weegar, and Dan Vladar with the idea that Lucic's $5.25M is expiring this year. There's no way they can fit the 3 additional years of Josh Anderson onto their cap without dumping a guy they currently have.

Not only is Josh Anderson definitively not worth a top prospect like Coronato *AND* a 1st, he's certainly not worth putting yourself into a cap predicament for. He's a middle-6 guy - would you add a middle-6 guy to Montreal that would require you to dump someone else's contract to get under the cap?

I could see them having interest in 1 year of Anderson, I think you're kidding yourself a little bit if you think anyone is taking on 4 years of 5.5 for a < 20 goal scorer at a premium price. Where are you getting the rumour that they're interested?

Not for one second gonna argue Josh Anderson isn't a much better player than Milan Lucic, but I will say that for what he brings moving Coronato and a 1st for him is a terrible idea. The Lucic deal is over after this season, paying a premium to swap it with 5 years of Josh Anderson is such a self inflicted wound. Josh Anderson has a whopping 3 more points than Lucic this season. He's not even close to a top 6 forward, and anyone acquiring him and not sending back an equally bad or even worse contact is making a huge mistake.

Naw man, it's super easy to fit Anderson. Just send Huberdeau to Montreal in this deal, then VOILA! Cap space!

I'm pretty sure that if/when Josh gets traded we'll all be shocked. His value obviously isn't that high but if insiders are correct and there are indeed 3+ teams (EDM, CGY, NJ, forgot the latest one) looking at him then there must certainly be a market where he has positive equity. I guess Montreal could take back a higher cap hit with shorter term (like PIT did with Petry) or go the opposite way like they did with Matheson at a lower AAV longer term. Who knows what the future holds but at the end of the day if Montreal was able to get a player with a lower AAV, who is younger and produced at the same rate as Petry for a guy that wanted out with half the league on his NTC I'm pretty sure something can happen with Andy.
