Toronto has no cap space now, this trade adds $2 million in cap, and Morgan Reilly is still on the LTIR list. I don't see how the Maple Leafs can do this, never mind adding the second or whether they'd like Aube-Kubel back.

Also, they go over max contracts.

NAK is dog trash, and Eller is washed and worse than Engvall yet we add a 2nd? Replace Eller and NAK with Hathaway and Sheary and Toronto does it.

Toronto has tons of cap space. They've got 6 mil cap space right now with 8 mil worth of players sitting on IR. RIght now if everyone returned from injury except Muzzin...the Leafs could be running a 25 man roster while being under the cap. The Muzzin injury took care of cap space for the Leafs for the near future.

They have $6.33 million of cap space including those on the IR list, which DOESN'T include the LTIR list. That cap space figure doesn't include Reilly's $7.5 million cap hit (or Muzzin's). I'd hardly characterize that situation as having "tons of cap space"; it only becomes (barely) manageable with Muzzin's relief.

No way New Jersey does that trade.

Leafs trade definitely favors the caps too much.

Dallas trade is terrible for us. We’re getting so little value for some of our most valuable assets available at the deadline.

Caps and pens won’t trade with each other. Value is close though.

Edmonton trade is a head scratcher…

The IR guys turn into at a minimum 750k each, same with the guys who come off LTIR, for the guys they replace on the roster as they come off. That's why they have so much room. The Leafs right now with everyone healthy and a 22 man roster have 2.8 mil in space. More than enough for easily fit Eller in this AGM. If they were to move Engvall, it would be 5 mil in space. That's a ton of cap space for a competing team and to call it barely manageable is just indisputably wrong.

You’re not getting Hathaway and Sheary for a 2nd and a nothing forward. But yes the trade as it is, it’s bad for Toronto.

somehow you managed to get around equal value for everyone even though every individual trade is bad lol.
