The Wild really need a center and it seems Dumba has fallen out of favor. If the Caps eat half of Kuznetsov's salary for a few more years and provide a replacement defenseman for Dumba, can the Caps get Lambos and a first?

Why would the Caps want Dumba though? Wouldn't he just walk after this season?

I see a few reasons. I'm pretty sure Minnesota would need to move some money out even for this year so moving Dumba saves them about a mill. The Caps can also retain and flip Dumba if there's an offer there, or you can try out Dumba to see if he's a good fit moving forward

Minnesota doesn't have the cap. Cap exists for a reason. Minnesota isn't trading their 1st round pick this year when it can come up being lottery. Also when Guerin took over, our beat writer said Guerin wouldn't trade for Kuznetsov. Minnesota needs to sign boldy, Addison and field a roster, so no

That's not really enough for Caps to eat money on their 1C for the next 2 years. Dumba doesn't do anything for them really since they wouldn't re-sign him. Deal doesn't make sense unless they are blowing up which they aren't as long as Ovi is playing.
