Seems like too many pieces, even for a franchise goalie, especially one that is struggling.

Kulich OR Ostlund.

Demko is definitely worth the first, one of the two, and a prospect goalie.

He’s struggled for 20 games because he was playing through injury. Demko is definitely worth three pieces.

Take out Kulich AND Ostlund and it’s still a “NO”
ZERO chance we give up this year’s 1st

If he starts playing like a franchise goalie, then u can think about asking for more, but as of now, his worth to Buffalo is more like:
Mittelstadt
Portillo
2nd

And not one bit more
Otherwise, u can keep him
Goalies don’t have the kind of value u think they do,
and we aren’t gonna massively overpay for a guy who isn’t even playing good at all this season
And if he’s hurt, he shouldn’t be playing

Look again
It’s a ‘23 1st and a ‘24 2nd

But regardless,
I don’t see the Sabres (or any team) giving up a 1st for a goalie who is playing bad

Well at least you fixed it,
but it’s still an easy NO from the Sabres

You just aren’t gonna get that kind of value for a goalie
Especially a goalie who’s been bad all year
Zero chance dude

You almost got me lol, I was going to say I thought I saw more than 3. I read the comments though and it seems that you did indeed edit the trade. He might get 3 pieces but not necessarily, depends on how good that goalie prospect and forward prospect are but with the 1st being a 2024 1st, it's more plausible. Teams aren't going to forget what Demko was but they aren't going to ignore that he's struggling when they are trying to trade for him. Buffalo in particular already has Levi in their system as you mentioned and they have UPL who seems like he could amount to something, so they probably don't have any added motivation to pay up for Demko. They could try pursuing a free agent goalie like Andersen instead to be their starter until Levi arrives. Doesn't really make sense to go pay up for a franchise goalie to be a stopgap.

@bogdown Here is the deal.
Dominick Hasek was traded for a first and Kozlov.
Robin Lehner was traded for a late first round pick.
Marin Jones was traded for Sean Kuraly and a first.
Marc-Andre Fleury was traded for a conditional 2nd

Let's presume, Demko is not struggling this season but look at what Buffalo is surrendering in this trade.
Kulich is 18 yo and is only one pt away from being the Rochester Amerks top scorer in the AHL.
Levi has been lights out his entire GK career stopping about 19 of every 20 he faces:
2021 WJC-20.........................................7gms 0.75 GAA 0.964 SV%
2019-20 Carleton Place Canadians 37gms 1.47 GAA 0.941 SV%
2021-22 Northeastern University 32gms 1.54 GAA 0.952 SV%
2022-23 Northeastern University 16gms 2.23 GAA 0.930 SV%
We are not talking about "prospects", these are two of Buffalo's best who appear to be "SURE NHL PLAYERS".

Buffalo would pass.

No mention of Levi in the trade and trying to ask Sabres fans between Ostlund and Kulich. Obviously he's the second coming of McDavid. Comparing prime Demko, a 26 year old who's had a 15 game bad stretch to someone like Fleury after his prime is not a great argument. Canucks will take their business elsewhere.
