Trades
1.
TOR
  1. Glendening, Luke
  2. Hakanpää, Jani
  3. Khudobin, Anton
  4. Kiviranta, Joel
  5. 2023 2nd round pick (DAL)
Additional Details:
Dallas gets a solid 3C which they have been missing and upgrade their 4LW with someone who can move up the lineup if needed. They downgrade Hakanpaa to Holl but both are similar players and play the same type of minutes and Holl is off the books next year to help accommodate raises. They also clear the 3.33M they have in the minors for Khudobin.
DAL
  1. Engvall, Pierre
  2. Holl, Justin
  3. Kerfoot, Alexander
Additional Details:
Toronto picks up a trade asset in the 2nd to use at the deadline. Even though Khudobin is a cap dump he has NHL experience and dubas has tried getting 3 NHL proven goalies for the playoffs every year playing as much as a 3rd for Rittich to play like 1/2 games so he won't have to do that this year.

Lose depth upfront but with many AHL players showing they can fill bottom 6 rolls and Knies on the way, the 2nd for top end rental is more valuable.

Hakanpaa also provides a Muzzin replacement that is a RD. Makes more sense that going for an offensive D like Klinberg or Karlsson.
2.
TOR
  1. 2023 7th round pick (SJS)
  2. 2024 7th round pick (SJS)
Additional Details:
Similar to the Barabanov trade that worked out really well for SJ. They get a potential top 6 guy who just hasn't been given a consistent chance in the NHL.
3.
VAN
  1. Der-Arguchintsev, Semyon
  2. Robertson, Nicholas
  3. 2023 1st round pick (TOR)
  4. 2023 2nd round pick (DAL)

Sorry but that's not the winning bid on Bo Horvat.

And Dallas isn't doing that either.

I like that offer for Horvat, maybe a slight upgrade over Der-Arguchintsev would get it done for sure

How does this help the Leafs at all. You have added one player to the NHL roster Hakanpaa, but traded three Leaf regulars away. Awful roster construction.

I'm confused why the Leafs of all team need another centre. Steep price to pay for Horvat for a portion that is not needed.

What are you talking about?

Holl is upgraded to Hakanpaa
Kerfoot is upgraded to Horvat
Engvall is replaces by Joshua who is essentially Simmonds but can still play hockey and be out there for 10-12 minutes a night and put up 25-30 points
Malgin, Robertson and SDA aren't regulars

That would match the best deadline package for a rental in the past 3-4 years, Not really getting much more than a B+ Prospect, 1st and 2nd.

- Dallas' RD is already questionable as it is. Stars aren't going to want to downgrade from Hakanpaa to Holl

- Stars don't need a 3rd line center. The 3rd line of Benn-Johnston-Dellandrea has been rock solid for them this season. If they look for a forward, it'll be someone that can slot on to the 2nd line RW spot

- With the Stars not having a 1st Round Pick this year, I can't see any circumstance where they trade away their 2nd Round Pick unless it's a part of a package that fills a significant hole in their roster (top-6 RW or top-4 RD)
