Really no reason for the Ducks to toss in a 2nd. 1st pays for Kling with retention, Timmins is a throw in reclamation project, and Robertson pays for Engvalls cap dump and for Jones.

Anaheim trade is comical. Leafs are set on defense (even without Timmins) so Klingberg shouldn't be a target. Jones is a fourth liner and barely and upgrade on Engvall/Robertson. Pretty much wasted the Leafs strongest trading asset on players that aren't going to get them farther in the playoffs.

LA trade is pretty bad too. Giving up more for a more expensive and worse player, but I guess he'll get unnecessary penalties for Toronto so great?!?!

How high of a pick for Jones straight up? 3rd rounder or 2nd?

@ Friesen - you get credit for consistency, but that’s about it. Truly pointless trades but we end up losing our 1st and ability to actually address area of need (top 6/9 forward). Awful

Probably a third if the Ducks were willing to move him. However he is young, physical, and has the size our GM craves, and despite being a bottom 6 guy still has kinda silky mitts (not that he scores very often, but he is still good enough to punish a goalie for assuming he can't)

If we moved him, we would have to replace him with another version of him, and as a guy that is the right age for the team, why would we do that for a lottery ticket?
