That's not getting Kane. Chicago's 2nd isn't going to be very far behind Toronto's 1st and it'll take at least a 1st just to dump Muzzin. That leaves Chicago swapping way down on 2nd round picks and throwing in Kane for a very underwhelming return of Engvall, Kerfoot and Hirvonen. Anyone else bidding on him beats that easily!

Engvalls trade value has went up due to the recent scoring. Muzzin is one of the highest paid players on the team and he’s constantly injured, is he really worth that much?

What do you think about trading another prospect? Maybe Moldenhauer? I would probably think about trading more than that but.

It'll take a first to dump Muzzin, another first and a B+ prospect or a 2nd round pick for Kane. That's without retention. Pending UFAs Engvall and Kerfoot aren't worth much Chicago is probably willing to take one of them to make the cap work for Toronto but taking both likely requires a little extra sweetener.

Toronto's 2023 1st + Knies + a 2nd + Muzzin and one of Engvall or Kerfoot going to Chicago as cap dumps might be enough to get it done. Of course Kane has full control of when/where/if he goes anywhere. If he doesn't give Chicago very many options they could be forced to accept less.
