Additional Details:
please note, this IS NOT a swap of the two players. We'd take the pick we get from trading Kerfoot, and use it to get Schenn. Likely works out even but calm down, we can add another later pick or something if it isn't right. Just the premise.

What do you think Kerfoot is worth and what do you think schenn is worth?

Can probably do without trading for Bertuzzi, giving up Niemela and the next two 1sts is much for just 1 run. If adding O'Reilly isn't enough to put them over the top, then adding Bertuzzi is probably not going to be the difference maker.

Detroit passes, Hirvonen is 5'9" no way Yzerman takes him when he's signing and drafting bigger guys. Doubt Toronto has many pieces that will entice us.

Yeah just took him out, Detroit has no use for smallish players. Not sure who'd interest us for Bertuzzi. Hirvonen and Robertson are just too short.

Yeah Yzerman would need to add a pretty good prospect, To convince Kyle Dubas to part with Matthew Knies.

roughly a 3rd/4th depending on the market at the TDL, for both

not happening. He's about our only untouchable prospect. Unless we got a great young player on a good deal with term, it's not happening.

Well since Canucks won’t trade schenn for only a 3rd or 4th the latest trade in your AGM doesn’t work

Would defeat the purpose of trading Bertuzzi lol, I'm sure Yzerman would trade him elsewhere for futures rather than give up a pick to get Knies. He's also really good at spotting talent, so he'll look for his own Knies.

Yeah well your offer doesn't cut it, Bertuzzi to Toronto more than likely will never happen.

ok fine, happy to revise in a way that isn't Knies.

Also worth noting that Hirvonen may be small, but he's got the intangibles - good leader (finland captain), hard working player, two-way. Yzerman may value that.

bet you they would. no reason not to trade him and I doubt anyone will pay much more for their 3rd pair

I guaruntee you they will not trade him for a 3rd or less. If that’s the case they will simply resign him

and what if he doesn't want to stay through a rebuild? or who is to say he wont resign with VAN after in the offseason if he really loves it here? he's worth about a 3rd rounder, if thats market value and the Canucks are selling a ton, he'll go too

Ummmm… They can trade him and still re- sign him, he’ll be a FA. Canuckle fans are deluded, no way rental schenn gets more than a 3rd or 4th imo. He’s 3rd pairing or 7/8 on most playoff teams

Drafting bigger guys?
Kasper, niederbach, Raymond, James, buchelnikov, mazur are all forwards under 6’0

Not to mention they got guys like bergren and veleno on the roster who aren’t that big either.

They have definitely been drafting bigger dmen but their forwards have been tiny
