Agreed. Terrible return.

In such a flip, the Sens would have to take back a contract (Beauvillier), but I would be asking for Raty here over Aho. Further, an ideal flip would land a RD o play with Sanderson long term. Set up the top four..... now that maybe Bernard-Docker or Thompson, but right now the jury is out in that.

Islanders simplynot a fit.

What leverage do they have with debrincat? None.

They would not be looking for futures. It would be a 1 for 1 or 1 for 2 players .

So in this scenario Ottawa was unable to reach an agreement with ZUB but kept him past the trade deadline and let a coveted shutdown RHD walk for no return???

I also agree with the above comments regarding DeBrincat. They'll do much better than this.
They should actually try to sign him before the deadline to see if what he's thinking... if it's evident he's not interested in staying long term we could see what teams would be willing to pay to add him to their roster for this season's playoff run.

Neither does that original deal have a chance.

Have to target a RHD if the Sens trade DeBrincat

This doesn't do anything for Ottawa who are not looking for futures at this point in the rebuild

A lower 1st and a 3rd, and no early 2nd

Aho is of no use and considering contract statuses and AAVs, I wouldn't do Brannstrom for Beauvillier

Never proposed the original deal so to me it's a moot point. Isles are not trading Dobson or their 1st rounder in 2023...end of story.
