There is 66m in salary on Jones contract, there is only 23m on bobs

Why does Florida want to financially commit to that

Moving Jones isn't really an issue. It would just open up cap space that we'll need to fill anyway. He's a fine defenseman and as long as he isn't miserable enough to ask for a trade, he'll be ok, he's a big boy.

I could see MTL giving FLO 2023 1st and Matheson for Jones. They could add a mid rounder for his brother.

I'd be into something like that. It really depends on what the plan is, because we also need to hit the salary floor. Like, if Davidson is planning on hitting free agency hard for long term pieces over the next couple of summers, then yeah definitely move Jones if they can. But I wouldn't want to both keep him and hit free agency hard, I want CHI to keep the cap flexibility in tact for the younglings as they come up and earn NHL contracts.
