Is another forward or, more specifically, a center really what BUF needs? lol

Edit: I know. It's F-ing Bedard. Who wouldn't want him.

They aren’t bad enough for Bedard. They have a positive goal differential, they are going to start winning games. Personally I hope he goes to either Vancouver (who you could also argue might be too good for him) or Columbus.

I looked at the projected first round a few days ago. There's only 3 defensemen, and the earliest any are projected to go is late teens. So if the Sabres are drafting top 10, it's probably gonna be a forward. The Sabres have Thompson and cozens, both look good right now. Mittelstadt is awful, but there's several center prospects like Krebs, kulich, savoie, and ostlund that could fill that spot at some point. I don't think we will have a look at Bedard, but I bet we draft a forward either way.

Those 2nd rnd picks could be valuable for Dman this upcoming draft. Think Allen is the highest ranked RHD and doubt he fits what the Sabres want. Gavin McCarthy might be someone to look at in the 2nd.

There aren't many high end RHD's in the 2023 draft. That's for sure. Reinbacher is maybe the closest thing. There are lots of LHD though, Lindstein, Gulyayev, Allen, Dragicevic, etc., but BUF doesn't really need any LHD for the foreseeable future.
