"The Vancouver Canucks made an offer to team captain and pending unrestricted free agent Bo Horvat roughly two weeks ago, people involved with the negotiations confirmed to The Athletic"

"We believe the club tendered their leading goal scorer a max-term offer that was well shy of $8 million"

"The organization feels that they’ve made Horvat their absolute best offer. The club’s focus, now, is on maximizing a prospective return on the trade market."

It's Bo Horvat AGM season fellas

Today I learned :

Matthews Philipps weights... 140 lbs (64kg).

The lightest of the NHL and probably the tiniest at 5'7 (170cm)

Actual topic i was thinking about...are players contracts considered "bad" if they are at the end of an 8 year contract and the cap hit doesn't match the player? Take Toews for example. 9th highest cap hit in the league, has 14 points in 25 games. Except his salary is only 6.9m which isn't great but makes this seem a lot more decent. teows isn't worth 6.9m now so the over all contract is still bad. Was looking for other good examples of this but all the "bad contract players" are having career years lmao.

Maybe I don’t fully understand the question, but it seems to me like Jeff Skinner may apply. There were a couple of years, especially in flat cap, when it was looking like one of the worst in NHL. Now it just appears slightly above market.

They are considered bad if their cap hit is more than they are worth since that's what the limit looks at. If Toews was being paid $1 but his cap hit was 10.5 Million than it's bad. A cheap owner would be all over that though.

Bettman Oct 18 salary could rise as high as 4-4.5mill I have full confidence (would have been 86.5-87mill)

Bettman Dec 13 salary's going up a mill ignore what I said before

Can we just move all the teams not making money to new markets as man we see the MLB, NBA, etc getting more and they went through covid but nah we get stuck in purgatory lul

Also seems the new board adds, jersey ads, helmet ads, and gambling partnerships did jack **** for revenue lul. Would have at least expected a 2.5mill increase at the minimum

To be fair, during the summer it was no outrageous. RNH and Horvat are pretty comparable but it was obvious that Nuge took a big discount to play with McDavid. It is time for this team to rebuild anyway

is it too early for the Canucks to adopt the "Ruin the Crease-a for Misa" mindset?
