that 2019 Duchene trade was one of the biggest fleecings in NHL history and using it as a comparable is pretty funny. No one is giving you that for Horvat

What about downgrading it to a 1st-3rd or 2nd?

Offersheet him. The deal you'd have to pay him to lure him to Vancouver would be a massive overpay. Perbix is off the table.
Keep Schenn and see if someone will over for him.

Goncalves (BC Boy) and a 2nd for Kuze?!

This is why Niemela is not a B- prospect and is not being traded

so does that mean he is no longer of any value one down season doesnt mean he is trash now. and if that is the case why do the leafs move him when his value is "low"

Even still, it sets the precident for what a high end centre could go for at a rental. You dont have to like it, it is the most accurate price

Ok, calm down, its not that he doesnt have any value, its just that he doesnt have the value that he used to have, A- to B- isnt the end of the world, if hes supposed to be developing and is on a 28 game stretch I think that is telling.

No, it's just a bad trade. No one thinks guys like foligno are worth 1sts now, or prospects like forsberg are worth martin erat

Because he might be a distressed asset, he still has quite amount of value, I think that a 2nd and Schwindt is a fair deal and then you send lucic to make the money work

Ah to be a canuckle fan - the roller coaster of emotions tinged with delusion (must be the pot)…we’re going to be great, we’re not great but our players are great, everyone will pay a king’s ransom for our players and we’ll be great next year…hit repeat. No one is paying two 1sts + top 3 prospect from their system for rental Horvat tears of joy . Especially the Leafs - he’s a good player but he’d be our 3C and wouldn’t crack PP1; talk about over pay squinty smile

Well it all depends on how you look at it, veterans usually go for a fair amount and it is about how teams value players inwards, if teams think that foligno might help to put them over the edge then they might give up more to get him, I think that 2 late 1sts and a prospect is about what horvat is worth

Its a pretty low bar for Niemela to be a top 3 prospect in your system, I litterally laid out the trade comperable that most closely matches the horvat situation, 2 1sts, and a B- prospect for horvat and a pick. I even retained on the most valuable asset to favor your side of the trade more, I dont know what you're thinking, also like I have said, he is a top line centre on half the teams in the NHL and is one of the Best 2C in the league. You can use all the emojis in the world and call whoever whatever but that does not change the comps
