Trading for pettersson is not worth the assets he will cost.

Buffalo is set at 1C and 2C and pettersson will need a super big contract when Buffalo has to pay dahlin, power, cozens, Quinn, peterka

Lol not even close. Pettersson starts with Power or Cozens+

Any deal for him and Demko also includes an unprotected 2023 1st and Levi

While I agree that the trade proposal is too low, your expectations on the Canucks player values are also way to high. You're not getting a first overall pick who plays 25+ minutes a night at the age of 20 for a player who has one year left on his deal. Petterson could net you a 2023 first, a good prospect like Savoie, and a roster player like Olofsson.

Also, Demko is a big question mark right now and is not getting you the Sabres best prospect and an unprotected 2023 first. Demko probably gets you a 2024 first, UPL, and another key prospect like Kulich.

Pettersson is an RFa. It’s not like he is gone at the end of next year

Pettersson would be a great addition to Thompson and Cozens, but Dylan is only 3 goals and 1 assist behind him playing with two 20 yo wingers.
If Demko could return to his previous years performance that would be great, but Luukkonen is three year younger and has had to suffer with poor defenders leaving giving up too many great scoring opportunities.
An up grade at GK and Center will not make the Sabres a Stanley cup team.
Better defense (Johnson), better third line (Savoie and Rosen), an upgraded PK and better GK.
Other than GK all of the pieces Buffalo would be trading away are needed to make the team a Cup Contender.

Well it sounds like both Sabre fans and Canuck fans think this is a bad trade.
That is great, because Buffalo should not be trading their prospect pool for players at this time.
I hope you all know that those three prospects are expected to be in the NHL next year or the following year.
Savoie is rated to be about as good as Cozens, Rosen on par with Peterka and Johnson a solid LHD.
Then there is a first and second round draft pick.
Tim Murray tried jump starting the rebuild and all that did was set it back 8 years.
Rejecting this trade would be the best thing for Buffalo's future.

Sabres Decline, just not worth it for the Sabres IMO. I would rather keep those players.

It doesn’t make sense for the Sabres to give up 3 first round prospects, a first and a second for a center and a goalie when they already have Thompson and Cozens both performing at a PPG+ pace.

Sure, then they get the pleasure of paying him $10 to $11 mil a year or see him walk away as a UFA a year later.

Right because an RFA ALWAYS just takes their QO and never signs a normal contract...
