2023 1st and Hawks accept; top 10 protected or top 5

No point for Sabres to pay that 1st round pick , since this team isn't Patrick Kane away from being playoff team.

That 3rd line might get crushed defensively.

The Sabres still have really good odds to make the playoffs now based on performance and ease of schedule going forward. Kane could easily help them gain a playoff berth

Any trade for Kaner starts w/ a 2023 1st rounder. As for the 3 players, Hawks have plenty of bottom 6 F options and definitely don't need another left shot D.

youre not getting top 6 forwards or core players for a 3 month rental, even though Mittlestadt would easily be in Chicago's top 6. Asplund might even be in there. Bryson also plays both sides

Bruins need Kinkaid as a #3. Just claim Hellberg when he's on waivers in few days.

No interest in trading for Kane, he’ll sign here if we have mutual interest. Plus Jack Johnson is still bad.

Sabres needs to improve internally, especially on defensive side of the game. Kane would be nice, but this is still best scoring team in NHL, way below playoff line.

Theyve fluctuated between 40 and 66% chance this week to make the playoffs according to Moneypuck (based on performance and ease of schedule), minor improvements could push this team into a wild card spot
