Patrick Kane isn't signing with a Canadian team. And he's getting more term and AAV than that.

Caps hard pass. Maybe Mantha straight up for Nylander but nothing else. Both great players with different styles. I know people are going to bring up point comparisons but Mantha plays with 3rd line players and gets no PP time. If Mantha played with Matthews and Bunting and got 1st unit power play time he'd also, easily, be over a point per game player. Maybe Caps throw in a little something because Nylander is younger but Mantha is also cheaper so maybe it evens out. But swap would make sense: Mantha is exactly what TOR needs (size with skill) and Nylander is exactly what Caps need (speed with skill).Might make sense this summer if TOR feel like Nylander won't extend and Mantha won't extend with Caps.

I'm sorry but what? Don't get me wrong I am a big fan of Mantha...but a swap one for one with Nylander is heavily favored to the Caps...

Nylander is so much better than Mantha at pretty much everything, except obviously being physical...

I'd disagree. Only difference between the two is Mantha is bigger and Nylander is faster but both have same skill level. Difference is Nylander plays with top tier players and on the PP while Mantha doesn't.

Imo, Nylander IS a top tier player…the comparable on the leafs to mantha is bunting as he is the one benefitting from playing with top tier players in Matthews AND Nylander

He's better than Bunting for sure. Maybe he's not as good as Nylander, but if it is it isn't a 1st+Iorio difference. Maybe a 2nd at best. But if they want us to eat money on Mantha then it would just be a swap I'd imagine.

I also think mantha is better than bunting, but it’s a lot closer than you think. I wouldn’t be surprised if most leafs fans think the opposite and think bunting is better. As for mantha and Nylander, I believe Nylander is way ahead of mantha and it would cost a 1st, a 2nd/3rd and mantha retained to trade for him but I don’t think either team would want to do that.

Yeah no way. Mantha and Nyladner are muuuuch closer than you think. It's just 1 gets to play with top tier talent and get 1PP time. Caps definitely wouldn't pay all of that.
