Boeser goes Bo stays

Created by: Nighthawk
Team: 2022-23 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 15, 2022
Published: Dec. 15, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
In season trades are the hardest to get done. The Canucks are in no rush & play the waiting game til a team pulls the trigger. Fully expecting Boeser gone near Xmas most likely shortly after the Xmas trade freeze.

Horvats contract talks will drag out but he will resign. Other issues are in the forefront. Once more cap space is created talks will heat up for real. 8/8-8.25m

Kuzmenko will then be next up after more sample sizing. He’s shown very well so imo extends around mid February.

Habs could use another sniper for the woeful PP. I’ll start with Boeser as help. Dadonov an unresigned rental to make cap space for Bo & Kuzmenko. The 2nd to add more draft D depth.

Feel free to find another team for a fit in the comment section.

Brock might do well with Mtl and Martin St Louis, seems like a good place to find your "a" game.

However looking at the cap future and the fact that they don't need to be competitive this year and are still building, I see them being wary about that contract and not wanting to give up a draft pick.

They may take advantage of the fact that you want to move him and trade straight across.

If Boeser picks up his scoring pace a bit and you wait until the deadline he might be desirable and valuable to a contender dealing with injuries.

I could see St Louis being another team for Boeser if they want to retool while staying competitive. Tarasenko is traded at the deadline and they use some of the assets gained by Tarasenko to acquire Boeser.

Idk so much about wary being it has only 2yrs left on it. For the price of a UFA dump & only a 2nd it’s low risk high reward potential. Habs could also flip him one fact most ppl don’t consider. His point production has upside with a change of scenery.

There seems to be alot of effort trying to move him getting the agent involved. It gives me the idea that they're having a hard time getting any reasonable value back. Also makes me think it would be a tough flip.

He's a good player, has a decent amount of points, just shy a few goals for a sniper. I know injury history is a concern as well. Right now I just believe GMs see whats going on and are holding out for a desperate move.

There's also the highly competitive rental market this year. Everybody's saving thier pennies for Kane, Tarasenko, Meier, etc.
