Buffalo accepts. Girgensons is a waste of a roster spot anyway.

He's really not though. He plays 12 minutes a game, has 7 points, and is around 50% even strength corsi all while usually drawing the hardest defensive assignments. He battles for pucks, he hits, he draws penalties, blocks shots, forechecks and backchecks. Maybe he's a little overpaid for a 4th liner, but he does everything you could expect from one. You could do a lot worse than a 4th line with Gus and Asplund.

He has 1pt in the last 16gms, they are starting to play Quinn Cozens Tuch Tage on the PK. We can live without him.

remove any semblance of grit from the team and see what you're left with.

I wouldnt say hes a waste, but I dont see a future for him in Buffalo regardless so if they can move him and improve the current roster, they should pull the trigger.

This team absolutely needs to find some grittier tougher players in the bottom 6, specifically the 4th line. You can easily tell this team hasnt been to the playoffs in the last decade

Ottawa has no interest in that deal but would love to see DeMelo come back to us.
Maybe Hamonic (50% retained) + Brassard << >> DeMelo.

He falls more during a game than he hits people. If I can improve my team, which DeMelo helps. I have no problem moving Girgensons. And they could always sign him in FA anyway. Which they shouldn't.

I'm not really just talking about hitting people. He battles for pucks and drives into the corners which is something a lot of the players on the team simply don't do. I'm not against trading him or losing him as a UFA, but you absolutely need to replace the things he does in the line-up.

They honestly need more players willing to do those things on a consistent basis. Look at Olofsson in the Kings game, he does absolutely nothing almost the entire game, then something seemingly clicked for him for a couple of shifts and he drives the net, plays through contact and lo and behold Krebs ends up scoring. You need guys in your bottom 6 that will do that every game. They aren't going to score goals like that every game, but you still need to go to the dirty areas of the ice. Who on the roster does that with any consistency other than Gus and Tuch?

With how the Jets are playing, they have no reason to make bad trades and weaken their roster.

Girgensons is awful and an unneeded left shot winger. Why would Winnipeg throw away a good, top 4, right shot defenseman for a 13/14 forward, press box guy?

The Hamonic trade is also a waste of assets and cap space. He's a 7/8 defenseman that isn't better than what the Jets have now and similar players can easily be found for league minimum.

More bad analysis from you. You couldn’t be more wrong about both of those players.

Lol. Okay. If you we're a Jets fan you wouldn't be so adamant about the Jets downgrading their lineup when they are playing well.

If I'm wrong, let's hear your analysis then on why the Jets should give up the best player in both trades, including adding to the best player in one for waiver level plugs.

I understand that, but the players that will take his spot can play that game. They can bring him back in the off-season, but that trade helps them now. I appreciate what Girgensons brings, but time is not on his side.
