No on Boeser. He breaks up the second line which has obvious chemistry and works extremely well together.

Isles would probably take that, Lyub would be a solid RD3 to replace Mayfied if Grant Hutton isn't the guy (he's probably not the guy)

It's also scary to look at this team and see how much cap space they have - even after spending more than $20M in signings, and bringing more expensive players (Boeser & Roy), they still have enough room to either add any rental they want without retention, or even take a useful player for peanuts off a capped out team's hands (a la the Oliver Bjorkstand trade).

Goalie is the only issue here, but I see you've got Devon Levi in the AHL and if he turns out to be the guy...hooooo boy

Can't see LA parting with Roy.

And if they did, the deal would need a 1st round pick or a top-4 ready LD. So LA would counter for Samuelsson or a 1st.

Hucking off your prospects that the entire league knows might not sign and the worst of your three 2nd round picks isn't enough. There's no leverage there for Buffalo.

I dont know why when its a clear cut no and multiple reasons are given why, people continue to do the same trade for weeks. The sabres have no need or interest in Boeser. He doesnt add anything, and the Sabres have multiple other upgrades they should be considering.

If you were going to get boeser he'd be on that 3rd line trying to get those guys going. He doesnt really fit with cozens.
I feel like you've put together a great d but its not really sustainable. Honestly i like lyubushkin and bryson as an affordable 6th pair. I think if the current guys get some injury free time to play together you'll see theres no need to trade assets for and later pay roy or add maata who again cost a little to much for the role you need him in, our 3rd pair probably only plays 10-15mins a night and mostly pk, not really a fit for maata.

As someone who is already in the system and at least as good a prospect as either Johnson or Portillo, Madden has significantly more trade value than one of them. And for the same reason, Roy is worth more than that entire package. So substitute Sean Durzi or Sean Walker for him in that deal and it would make sense for both teams.

I think you would have to add a 1st to that Kings trade and drop the 2nd. Roy is very good. Not a fan of Boeser, you can just move Olofsson to recoup assets and keep Asplund and start him over Foligno
