Robertson is a descent NHL player. Mantha isn't bringing what WSH wanted when they acquired him. He would benefit from a change. I agree WSH said they aren't rebuilding, but they could use a trade like that as a starter to liberate Cap and make another move.

It's not his fault, he gets to play with 3rd liners and gets no PP time. If he played in the top 6 and got PP time he'd be a point per game player. Just today they move him up to the 2nd line so we'll see.

BUT if Caps were to sell the value makes sense.

The only issue is I know the caps won’t retain. We could take Kerfoot back too if that helps with the cap situation.

Maybe Mantha helps the Leafs marginally this year. But his 2.9m is too much for the Leafs next season. Leafs have plenty of LWers this season and next season.
