Holl, Kerfoot, and Jordie Benn.

...just kidding, its going to cost a lot more than you want to give up for a guy who will almost certainly be a rental.

Someone with the ability to resign him is probably gonna beat whatever you would be comfortable offering.

They said it would be less than Alex DeBrincat, Who got a 1st, 2nd and 3rd round pick.

It depends on (1) when the trade goes down and (2) his next contract.

I am guessing somewhere in the range between the returns of Fiala, Reinhart, and maybe Duchene 2019. Could be Buchnevich return if contract demands are high. Maybe lower if he accepts QO or if he is awarded arb deal.

Debrincat was 7th overall basically at the draft. That increased the value of that pick substantially. So you have to keep that in mind also.

I don't see SJ accepting 1st, 2nd, 3rd from a competitive team at the deadline. 1st + Prospect they really like and one other piece, at minimum is what I would think.

You're right on the 7th overall pick for Debrincat, Keep forgetting about that part.

1st+Good prospect sounds about right for Meier.

Well, since the it is a cap league and Reilly and Jarnkrok will be back soon, and Engvall and Robertson aren't on LTIR there is no chance Meirer because a Leafs

something like Knies+1st
if not Knies then a combination of TOR's other top prospects

it definitely won't be Engvall/Holl/Kerfoot like 90% of every leafs ACGM

Debrincat got the 7th OA the 39th OA and a 24 3rd.
your 23 & 24 1sts plus your 24 2nd are worth the equivalent of the 7th OA. I know people will argue this but remember the sharks got the 27th 34th and 45th for their 11th last year and the 7th would be worth a lot more than the 11th in any draft.
then you still have to give up another 2nd (around the 39th OA) and 3rd.

to me a comparable deal for Meier would be 3 1sts. or a top prospect and a 1st. plus a 3rd.
I know this sounds ridiculous but I think I'm being reasonable. plus Meier is a more desirable player than Debrincat with his size speed and the way he drives play, where Debrincat is more an quasi Elite supporting wing.
if you look at the metrics Meier is one of the league leaders in creating high danger shots and driving the play. where Debrincat more feeds off his line-mates to create chances.

Don't get me wrong Debrincat is an amazing player but Meier could have an Evander Kane like jump in production (when he went from SJ to the Oilers and was on a 50 goal pace with McDavid as his C) playing with line-mates like Matthews and Marner i could easily see Meier producing 45+ goals 90+ points.

Most toronto fans would call that an overpay

Probably 2 from your top ranked list, like say Niemela + Minten/Hirvonen. I'd even take the risk on Amirov... I love how the Leafs are supporting him so much.

i would then choose both minten and hirvonen then, niemela is crucial for leafs future d core when eventually giordano and muzzin retire, amirov isnt getting traded for obv reasons (long live amirov and fight on)
