Like the player, but the Sabres have a lot of prospects coming and his contract is a bit to long. Sabres decline

Dallas says no to the Isles trade. Buffalo says no to the Faksa trade. Pavs says no to 1.5 million. I think there’s better fits than Kuzmenko

there are 3, maybe 4 more valuable RD in the NHL rn. No reason to trade one of the most valuable pieces at the most depleted position in hockey for a bunch of meh

Young elite #1 RHD do not go for fair trade packages. Stankoven is great, that 2024 is likely a late 1st and Harley likely tops out as a #4.

Dallas could add a 2025 1st even with Stankoven and the isles still decline

I never said the Isles should trade him. But saying that isn’t enough value wise is incorrect. Calling that package a bunch of meh just makes me think you don’t know much about prospects outside of the Isles system

You don’t understand value for elite RD then. The package for one isn’t fair value, it would have to be an overpay to even get the isles to consider moving him. The isles don’t entertain the OP offer.

Harley and Kyrou have some very strong up side. Dallas just doesn’t know how to develop defensemen. The Isles wouldn’t trade him so it isn’t really worth arguing over lol. At least you didn’t call our best prospects a bunch of meh

I understand just fine. He’s an elite defenseman and the Isles have ZERO reasons to trade him. So go get in the OPs face about it. I’m just saying if they were shopping him that’s more than I’d be willing to give up to get him. I get grumpy when people post Heiskanen trades so I get it. No need to get feisty

All i said is this package doesn’t get you Dobson and you responded as if it is enough and I was saying something crazy.

The package for a RD like Dobson would be so absurd that it wouldn’t be worth it for any team to trade for him

Pretty sure I said he’s an elite defenseman and the Isles have no reasons to trade him. In some bizarro world where they’re shopping him, I would be upset if Dallas gave all of that to get him. 100%. Dobson is a stud. I have him on my fantasy team. I don’t see them ever trading him. I also don’t see dumping high picks and a majority of the farm systems quality for one defenseman ever being a good idea. Maybe those guys don’t all hit, but we need cheap young high end talent coming in more than we need a guy that’s gonna be looking for Heiskanen money in two years

Keep him in and the Islanders still decline. Harley is the best prospect in the bunch and he's an LHD - the Isles have Adam Pelech signed long-term and they just traded a 1st last year for Alex Romanov. Not arguing whether nor not Harley will be better than them; just saying this is a position they already have a ton of assets devoted to. Stankoven's a C at this point, which bumps up against the same problem - the Isles best forward is a center that just signed an 8 year extension, and their best prospect currently is also a center (plus they have multiple other Cs signed long-term at this point, but they're more replaceable). The only player coming back that would fill a hole in the org's depth chart (RD and LW/RW) would be Kyrou, and he's got the lowest upside of the 3.

I guess what I'm saying is not that the value is incorrect, it's just not a package the Isles would want. Doesn't address their biggest needs, and creates a big hole in their lineup while doing it. If (and this is a big, huge, enormous -IF-) they moved Dobson, I could only see it being for another established player under 23 - like a Brady Tkachuk or Andrei Svechnikov type.

That trade is so completely unrealistic. Can't believe something so stupid is on this site. The admins should take this down and suspend your account. I mean, in all my years on this site, that's the craziest trade I've ever seen.

The Stars shouldn't need to give up a 3rd AND a 5th to move Radek Faksa. Smh, tsk tsk.

That’s true, but Faksa can be our next “Girgs”
Except he’s actually good defensively & wins faceoffs

All kidding aside,
he fills a role that we currently don’t have anyone to do
And none of our talent that’s coming projects to fill that role either

I like the player and agree he's better than Girgensons. Sabres have a lot of kids that play a very good 200ft game. If a few keep developing the way they are, Buffalo should be able to roll 4 lines of Speed and forecheck. I don't think the Sabres will need either.

I was kidding. Just wanted something to yell about that wasn't the Dobson trade. Felt like you'd gotten enough of that already. In reality, Dallas is fine shipping out those picks to free up Faksa's cap space.

Well hasn't Cozens been drawing the tough assignments. Even over the last few games Girgensons PK time has dropped to like 30 seconds.
