I think probably Blueger-McGinn-Archibald. Although I wouldn't be against trading McGinn if we could find a suiter just given his cap hit. Just because I feel we have tons of 4th line options. Not that he's bad, but just feel we can get similar production for cheaper. I would also give O'Conner/Poulin a shot on that line at some point.

CHI trade is good. BUF trade seems like a waste. Carter is at least equal, if not better, than Middlestadt so you're losing Dumo and making the defense weaker for basically no reason imo.

Archibald has the same amount of 5v5 goals as Domi and Mittelstadt combined this season. Both of the guys added are useless at 5v5 so it does nothing to help the 3rd line.

Domi would be perfect as a 3rd line winger or center. Much better than Carter. I think he would thrive in this role. He's not a first line center and he's being asked to anchor that line on a horrible Chicago team and go against top D pairs. He'd do much much better in a lesser role on the 3rd line. We simply need a better 3rd line. Having a 37 year old in that role on an already older center core will not work come playoff time. Need more youth and production on that line.

ok but I believe their playing style can have much better chemistry than the actual 3rd line.

and honestly dumo has not playing well enough this season, love him and grateful for what he has done, but paying 4mil for a third pairing dmen is too much. (considering we have a potential stud in smith in the minors)

Carter has a better Corsi, Fenwick, Shots for %, Goals for %, Expected Goals for %, Scoring Chance for %, Goals per 60, and is equal in points per 60. Carter has done this while getting significantly less offensive zone starts and playing with way worse linemates. This "Domi is much better than Carter" take is just factually incorrect and based on nothing.

I don't have an issue with getting Domi, but its for 3LW - not a Carter replacement. And surely not an upgrade

Well at least we both agree on Dumo haha. But there is no way anyone can convince me Mittlestadt is anything more than a 4th liner who plays on the power play. Domi is a 3rd liner, but he's best as a winger and isn't a great goal scorer.

Love the middle stat idea, can't believe I did not think if that in any of mine, and love Domi. But Buffalo is almost certainly on Dumilons NTL, and they don't want Nylander back.

If we can find a way to clear the 4 mill we need without trading Dumi its a good team.

I would say trade Mcginn not Heinen. I think Heinen would be better for us by the end of the year (could easily be wrong) but more importantly, Mcginn clears 2.75 over Heinen's 1. Chicago is more likely to want Mcginn where he's not an UFA. Vancouver is the only team realistically trading for Kapi without being payed to do so, that is why I have been thinking big with get Bo or Brock. But I guess if we went your route with Millstadt we could trade him to Vancouver for a tin a chew and some lightly used practice Jersey to clear cap.

We need to get a new 3C. Carter is second to last on the team in expected goals. Domi or not something has to be done, it is a big problem. The whole team is playing lights out except third line.

But why do we need to get one? Because some guy on Twitter said so - or posted an xGF graphic? Yes - that's what happens when you never start in the offensive zone lol. That's why him and Blueger have sub 50 xGF% numbers. Is it a big problem? They're 14-2-2 in their last 16 games so clearly it's not that big of a problem.

I'm all for adding someone to improve the 3rd line - it's obviously the worst line. But it needs to be an actual improvement. Domi is a downgrade at 3C - he has a significantly worse xGF% than Carter. Maybe useful for 3LW. Middlestadt is also a downgrade at 3C. If a new 3C is what you want - I just want it to be for a guy who is actually better than Carter.

What about Adam Henrique?

Now that is someone I would agree with being a nice upgrade. That's a good name there I didn't even think of him. Not too much of a drop in faceoffs - way better defensively. Probably a slight offensive upgrade as well. I'm all for that one.
