Canucks never say yes to this. Silovs yet to prove anything and Martin is cruising and doing well because Canucks outscore their defensive problems. But, Buffalo would be deadly with Demmers in net

If they are rebuilding they absolutely should say yes and they should rebuild. Between this and a return for horvat they could have 3 1sts in the best draft in 8 years and have cap space to retool.

This is very well done/realistic. I think Cozens 8x8 is about right based off of what other guys his age/production have gotten. Who do you think takes the C with no Okposo?

Dahlin 1000000%

I think he signs an 8 year deal on July 1 (he has 1 year left so thats the earliest he can sign) and is almost immediately named captain.

it will take more/different package than that for Demko, he has one of the best contracts in the NHL. Plus ,there will be alot of teams in on him if VAN shops him. NJ or LAK could beat it with their depth of RHDs for example.

how many goalies on their own have gotten a 1st in the last 20 years? 2?

Demko does not have one of the best contracts in the NHL.

he has had 2 solid seasons and i gave you more than just a 1st. how many teams are willing to give up a 1st for a goalie, and how many of those 1sts will be better than buffalos? and then buffalo adds a bunch of inexpensive young pieces. name those teams, and be specific.

Brother, you are thinking of this in a vacuum like BUF is the only other team in the league that would want Demko. Vancouver is pretty open about wanting young RHD in any of the trades they make. Thats why I said a different package is what they would want, not a 1st and a middle six forward/bottom LHD pair D in their mid 20s. I gave you examples of teams that could beat it with NJ and LAK, like say Morrow and a 1st would make more sense for the club. The trade you proposed is enough maybe to get him(if the 1st is unprotected but i doubt it would be in real life), it will just get beat by another team.
also, yes he has one of the best contracts in the league, look at the last UFA goalie market, worse/older goalies(Kuemper/Campbell) got same/bigger deals than his. Speaking of Kuemper, he was literally traded two seasons ago for a 1st and young RHD...

NJ and LA likely will have "worse" 1st round picks.

Before this season I would have said Cozens was the front runner for captain and then Tuch, you're spot on. It felt like they were forcing it at first but now with his overall game developed and how much they all talk about him - players and coaches/front office alike - he seems like the obvious choice. If Okposo retires I could see them offering him a front office role as well.

Dahlin, Samuelsson, Thompson and tuch are all letter material. Not taking it off girgensons tho.

Not enough can be said about Thompson's rise as a player, but his development as a leader as well is really something. It is obvious how hard he has worked/continues to work and how much fire he plays with. Girgensons should just have a letter sewn into all of his suits.
