No Monahan All Tank

Created by: Andy_Dick

Initial Creation Date: Dec. 17, 2022
Published: Dec. 17, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
1.
MTL
  1. 2023 1st round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Having a bad start to the season. Still has the pedigree of a Cup champ that plays big top4 mins. Guys like Gavrikov, Edmundson will always get a return at the TDL despite their struggles atm on bad teams. Edmundson is one of the locker room leaders on the team if you think theyll trade him for anything less than a 1st, you are dreaming. They have 11 picks, they dont need to dump him like Armia to make room on the wings. Edmundson will be kept as a mentor and play big mins. Holland is very interested as reporter by Rishaug. The'yll have the cap room at retention unlike a lot of other options like a Klingberg
EDM
  1. Edmundson, Joel ($1,750,000 retained)
2.
MTL
  1. Luukkonen, Ukko-Pekka
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (PHI)
Additional Details:
Simply seeing how bad this team plays without Monty maybe gives Hughes the desire to move him rather than sign him in the race to the bottom of the standings.
BUF
  1. Monahan, Sean ($3,187,500 retained)
Additional Details:
Be a good veteran to add on a young team that needs a push to the playoffs. Obviously they rather have Devon Levi. UPL would be another project
3.
MTL
  1. Kessel, Matthew
Additional Details:
The new David Perron act 2

You really are obsessed with Boeser/the Canucks. Comparing Armia to Boeser is laughable

That being said, the values here aren’t terrible but I don’t see Buffalo or Winnipeg doing those deals

I'm probably the only Jets fan here that'd make that trade, always liked Armia's game, think he could rebound in Winnipeg, we'd likely need to move out a dman elsewhere though.

Monahan to Buffalo doesn't make much sense imo, he looks like a fit in Colorado to me but I'm sure Avs fans will balk at that idea.

They balk at every deal. I remember the Lehkonen deals here.

Buying out Armia I think makes the most sense in the end.

I honestly don't see anyone buying Armia in this market, he'd have to put together a pretty incredible run between now and the deadline for anyone to have any interest even with 1/2 retention.

Monahan doesn't make any sense to a team who are likely to miss the playoffs. He'll almost undoubtedly be sold to a contender given his age and pedigree.

I don't see Hughes trading Allen mere months after signing him to a multi-year extension, he's done a fine job to this point and his contract is perfect for his level of play.

The Edmundson one is pretty well in the ballpark of what is being reported and going to a team that seems to be interested in him so no notes there.

Buffalo counters with Bryson for Monahan straight up. Retention means absolutely nothing to a team under the cap floor

Mittelstadt and Ryan Johnson for Guhle and Montreal's 2nd best 2023 1st?

I like a 3rd line center to 'help the playoff push' but take away their 2nd best goalie.

Of course they do. They receive the two best pieces in the deal by far.

Those two pieces Montreal are sending are by far the most valuable in the deal.

Blues decline. I doubt we add at the TDL and we already have Leddy and Krug on the left side. Unless we can unload one of them I don't think we are adding another top 4 defensemen. Plus our 2023 first will be high and Edmundson is not worth that

lol what kind of weird troll is that? Monahan going for a 2nd round pick is the low end on the return quoted by pundits. You are speaking nonsense. Guhle is a 1st round talent and then another 1st. Go home, kid!
