Now that’s just an insulting offer. Is Hughes is traded, Nemec is going the other way easily

Because it's such a bad offer they heard people within the Devlis organization laughing about all the way in BC

Yea there really isn't a reasonable Hughes trade to be made. He'd only get moved if you overpay by a lot.

Death, taxes and Quinn Hughes to the Devils AGMs.
Inevitable.

Two top six wingers on six figure contracts yet to enter their primes .
One of the best U23 defenders outside the NHL.
A 1st and a 2nd.
Come on man is Quinn really worth more than Matthew Tkachuk and Jack Eichel?

I’m just here to remind everyone of two things.

Quinn Hughes should not be a New Jersey Devil. Our defense would relegate him to sheltered minutes at 5v5, and PP time
Quinn Hughes is a #2 defender at best on a good team, and not worth the asking price since he just isn’t as good as if, and will not be impactful enough for it to make sense

Mercer isn't going in the trade lmao, i'd much rather have him than Quinn tbh but the amount of Canucks fans in here thinking this isn't a fair deal is a riot

Don’t know why we’d want him anyways. We have a crazy good d core that’ll be out of price range with Quinn on the roster. Y’all can continue to suffer in Vancouver. Also Quinn Hughes is not worth more than Jack eichel, Matthew Tkachuk, Huberdeau, etc… Please stop that fantasy

They are the ones making the call!

Allvin: “Heellllll-o? Tom?”
Fitzy: “Patrik, please stop calling”
Allvin: “Quinn is on the block”
Fitzy: “I know. Not interested”
Allvin: “Tommy, gimme something big”
Fitzy: “Zero interest”
Allvin: “Well how about Miller? Or Boeser?”
Fitzy: “No, no”
Allvin: “Garland?”
Fitzy: “No”
Allvin: “Myers?”
Fitzy: “Please stop”
Allvin: “Fine then. I won’t answer when you call back with your massive overpayment”
Fitzy: “I won’t call”

Yeah, trading Mercer for Hughes would be a big mistake

Quinn Hughes would be the best defender on the Devils.

He'd be the best defenseman on: Anaheim, Arizona, Calgary, Chicago, Columbus*, Detroit*, Edmonton, LA, Minnesota, Montreal, New Jersey, NYI, Ottawa*, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Toronto, Washington, Winnipeg

* I'd say he's better then Werenski, Chabot, and Seider but it can go either way.

EDIT: I take Hughes over Siegenthaler but they're difficult to compare

As of now Siegenthaler and Hamilton both clear Quinn.

Hamilton is just an offensive D-man that produces less. Siegenthaler I think is worse then Hughes but they're also such different players it's difficult to compare them

I still think Quinn is better but I also forgot how good Siegenthaler is, there's more of an argument then what I was originally thinking which is my bad

Easily tbh. Maybe a few less points by Doog, but he makes up for it by actually being competent somewhere other than on the PP

Oh? Go on.

Hughes is incredible with breakouts and offence in general, his penalty killing is also strong. His only weakness is 5v5 defence and even then he’s not terrible though albeit not ideal. I’d say he’s below average in his own end but not that bad
