I don't understand why they have non playoff teams as the destinations for 2/4 of their trade proposals (and those teams are giving up Bedard lottery tickets). I get that they could extend Horvat but that just seems like a terrible decision to give up valuable futures just to extend an old C they could've signed as a UFA anyway

Horvat is not worth all those prospects and picks from HABS. Too much. Canucks would need at least 1 bad contract to go back either Dadonov or Drouin

      Thanks for the source.

I don't see the Habs going after a soon to be 28 y.o. UFA

There's no shortcut in rebuilding and giving away Beck and a 1st would be a mistake IMO.

It makes way more sense for teams who are contenders this year and the following ones. I'm betting on Boston on this one.

That's some suspect logic from the Habs proposal. They tried to justify it and it all fell flat. Montreal is looking to move veterans the same age as Horvat, he doesn't fit their window.

Nope. There is no way the Wings are giving that up for a rental they could just sign in the offseason. They're not even a playoff team.

Yeah that Carolina one makes no sense at all to me why they would do it. I’d gladly take it as a Canucks fan though lol

Not even the worst Horvat trade suggestion article I’ve seen lately. A Vancouver based writer put this one out

Hoooooly crap. That is the most nonsensical drivel I've ever seen.

"Columbus are rebuilding so maybe they'd trade a blue chip prospect for a UFA!"

"How enamoured is Panthers management with Aaron Ekblad?"

How does this guy have a job?

Detroit isn't far off from being a playoff team and Montreal is trading Florida's first. So not really any lottery picks here.

Reading that article I didn’t think it would get worse than saying Byram would need to be included. Then I read the Panthers part and genuinely thought it was a joke article

Ah I didnt notice it was Florida's pick but even then I dont think its smart to be moving assets for Horvat when they dont need him this year and could sign him as a UFA later

DET isnt far off points wise but I think its very unlikely they make the playoffs. Even if they miss by a little they are still giving up a shot at a high pick in a deep draft

You started with making sense amd ended with nonsense, sending a bad contract dosent mean an expiring contract it means armia AND hoffman

Check the standings again, Florida is 11th overall, that is literally a lottery pick since it is in the top 16. Also IF that pick wins the first lottery it would be 1st OVA (moved up 10 spots) which means you are trading Bedard +++ for Horvat, would you do that even one for one?!
