Awesome signing for a complimentary player for Chabot and solidifies top 2 D.

Very team-friendly contract for a solid RD. Not too expensive and not too long. Zub might not be a 1RD on a championship team, but he is still a good partner for Chabot.

Absolutely! Love it. One of Ottawa's best defenseman along side Chabot.

Great contract

Could've gotten way more as a FA

Decent deal, Zub’s a good complimentary 2nd pair guy that’s currently playing with Chabot

What an excellent deal for the team. Thought he'd be way closer to 5mil. Personally if this is what he got at 4 years, I'd have liked them to go to 5 or 6 and see if they could have gotten him even cheaper on AAV.

Still though, nothing to complain about, what a great Christmas gift to sens fans

I really don't get the Zub hype. He's a 3rd pair guy who looks better than he is because he is surrounded by a garbage d-core. This deal will look BAD in a few years.

I have been nicely surprised by Artem Zub. When he first came to the Sens, I thought he'd be a fringe third pairing D man. Turns out he was a lot more than that. I like this signing!

Voted yes because I do like what I've seen from Zub, but a fair criticism and comparable is sitting on the same team in Nikita Zaitzev

Not saying Zub doesn't deserve this deal he 100% does but I would be cautiously optimistic if I was a Sens fan

Great deal if he can keep it up though, but I could see this aging like the Zaitzev deal but only 4 years mitigates that risk to a fair degree

All in all in this rambling post I like it

personally i think it should go to Jarmo Kekalainen every time it's given out but Pierre Dorion has really made a solid case for the Jim Gregory this year. It's gonna be a close race between Pierre and Brad Treliving.

Wow that's much less than what I thought he'd be getting. I had 5.5 min over 5, good for them. It leaves options open for other moves next year

Great deal for the Sens. He's the anchor of their blueline and will be a key defender going forward. I really like this deal

It's a shame they didn't use a concussion protocol during your playing days Darcy, it seems you suffer from head trauma.

Lol...

Just kidding, you can have your opinion and you are partially right. But with the salary cap going to balloon up by $2-$4 million each year, this contract is good, but I agree it can turn into a Zaitsev deal, though the length is not 7 years like his.
