All trades heavily favor NYI. Unrealistic.

The only way the Ducks trade Henrique - who is a valuable veteran voice on the team - is for futures. Good picks and/or good prospects. The Isles sending back basically equal cap and asking them to waste a retention slot on a measly 600k kills this trade before it starts.

-Underpay for Kane. Dufour & the 1st is a good start, but Bode Wilde has minimal value at this point (hard to argue the team values him when they're letting him play for Arizona's ECHL team, no?) Chicago gets a better deal from a half dozen teams in the league if Kane is open to it - and even if he picks the island as his only destination, I'd think he'd *at least* match the Giroux package from last year (1st/3rd/young roster player), and this isn't quite there.

-Martin & Clutterbuck aren't going anywhere, sorry. They're older vets with lower cap hits that Lou loves; they're also more valuable to the Islanders' style of play (and the always mystical "intangibles") than a couple late-round picks.

-I think the value is fine for Chych (two B-tier prospects, a 1st & 2 2nds, plus a younger roster player in Beau) but I also think that it's kinda silly to spend *another* 1st rounder on an LHD so soon after spending last year's 1st to acquire Alex Romanov. If anything, I'd push for a rental LHD at the deadline; I just think trading for Chych puts a lot of eggs in the LHD basket when there are other holes on the roster.

-Anaheim isn't going to swap out Henrique, plus retain on him, for Josh Bailey and a bag of mid-round picks. It basically kicks the can an extra year down the road on their "find a buyer for this aging rental winger" project while only getting a couple lottery tickets. Ducks pass easily.

Contracts are also rough here - I don't think Kane signs for a $7M AAV anywhere, he'll probably get a shorter deal with a higher AAV. I also can't see Luke Schenn going from a 2x$850K deal that many agree is a bargain contract to a $950K deal for one year; he probably cashes in closer to $2M, even as he gets older.
