If you're trading for a player's negotiating rights, the trade value required plummets. Better players than Drouin have had their rights traded for 3rd rounders.

That said, bad OP. You can't sign Drouin for 1m a year, that's not nearly enough money. Also, why does Shattenkirk sign with a team that annually struggles to make the playoffs? High quality UFAs go to cup contenders, and the Isles are not that.

You can't dump Kumulin and his contract that easily. Money has to come back to NJ. Same with Halak. Why trade Bailey so cheap? I think 12m could better spend that Kovalchuk and Shattenkirk.

You may be right, but there is no way steve y let's him go got that, he will sign n trade worst case if neg. Rights are that low. Agree on $1M, he will probably get close to 4 per ejich makes that $12M closer to 16

This seems not only realistic, but probable. And im sure they'll get Carey Price at the deadline too.

Take far more then Pulock and Strome to get Drouin out of Tampa not even close, And Shattenkirk said that he wants to play for a team where he can be their #1 D man and sorry that's not happening with the Islanders.
